Ramona Southern Baptist Church
Ramona, California - United States
Ramona Southern Baptist Church (RSBC) began as a mission church started by Poway First Baptist, becoming incorporated as its own entity in 1973.We have been blessed with property that is debt free and honor our God in a sanctuary that holds approximately 250 on a campus that includes a fellowship hall, classrooms, playground, storage and offices for the Pastor and staff.
Services at RSBC on Sunday morning include Sunday school for all ages at 9:30 a.m. and a blended traditional-contemporary worship service at 10:45 a.m. which includes a praise team, special music, a children’s sermon and children’s church. We recognize the Lord’s Supper by partaking of Communion on the first Sunday of each month. On Wednesday evenings, we have an adult Bible study as well as a children’s program called Adventure Bay for children Pre-K through 6th grade, both of which begin at 6:30 p.m.
With an attendance of 45-50 on Sunday mornings and 15-20 on Wednesday evenings, RSBC has a family atmosphere with regular fellowship events that include potlucks, women’s Bible study, men and women’s breakfasts, a church-wide 4th of July BBQ, Thanksgiving dinner, a Christmas progressive dinner, and regularly-scheduled work days to provide for the blessings God has bestowed.
Each summer we hold a Vacation Bible School and Community Easter Egg Hunt and partner with several local churches in supporting a Ramona feeding program. Along with our financial support of the national Southern Baptist Convention and regional San Diego Southern Baptist Association, we also provide monthly financial support to the Ramona Pregnancy Center for young mothers and a local recovery ministry called In His Steps.
RSBC is an Elder-led church and leadership is made up of three Elders and an Interim Pastor. We envision the senior pastor becoming full time as the church grows. We also envision adding Elders and creating a Deacon board. The church staff consists of a Church Secretary, a Children’s Ministry Leader, and a volunteer Treasurer and Church Finance Committee. We are currently in the process of seeking a Youth Ministry Leader.
